Google X, The Moonshot Factory
– Frontier Incubations
Due to the highly confidential nature of my work at Google X (The Moonshot Factory), I am unable to share specific screens, proprietary technologies, or detailed project metrics. However, over a two-year period, I led product design across 8 distinct frontier incubations, transforming highly ambiguous concepts into scalable MVPs and successful spinouts. This era of my career represents a deep dive into applying human-centered design to extreme technical ambiguity and complex systems.
Highlights:
End-to-End Product Design: Led the user experience across multiple early-stage and advancing moonshots spanning Energy, IoT, and Industrial domains.
AI-Native Prototyping: Pioneered new methodologies by integrating generative AI models directly into the design workflow, successfully delivering code-ready UIs that drastically accelerated product delivery.
Agentic Design Systems: Architected an Agentic Design System tailored for AI platforms, defining a library of reusable UI patterns specifically meant for multi-agent workflows and human-in-the-loop interactions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnered tightly with engineering teams, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to translate deeply complex edge-tech concepts—such as AI-native supply chain tools and electric grid simulations—into intuitive, user-centric dashboards.
Project Overview:
This tenure was characterized by rapid iteration and the translation of radical ideas into tangible software. My day-to-day involved navigating extreme ambiguity to design sophisticated AI platforms, simulations, and data visualizations. To meet the speed and technical rigor required by these incubations, I adapted to an "AI-first" methodology, utilizing generative tools for rapid ideation and code-extraction workflows rather than relying solely on traditional static design processes. Ultimately, my designs laid the foundational user experience for several projects that either advanced to late-stage moonshots or graduated into independent spinout companies.
Invitation for Discussion:
Interested in learning more about how I approach product design in highly ambiguous, AI-driven environments? Let's connect. I would be thrilled to share insights into my methodology, how I leverage generative AI to accelerate prototyping, and how I build systems that balance complex technical requirements with seamless human experiences.
